Indiana Jones made archeology cool again. An entire generation went to college and got their doctorates in Archaeology only to discover that they do not get to steal solid gold idols from pedestals in ancient temples. Soon there after, they realized that Archeology graduates are likely to have between $80,000 and $90,000 in debt and a starting salary of under $30,000.

On the bright side, our museums will not want for lack of Curators and Assistant Curators and Directors and Interns and Registrars. But those Curators and Assistant Curators and Directors and Interns and Registrars will always long for a time where Nazi’s roamed the streets on motor bikes and your absent father turns out to be James Bond. A time when the dates were bad and the bars were closed. A time when there was no time for love, or, at the very least, you could never catch a break. A time when it always had to be snakes, even if it’s just your pilot Jock’s pet snake Reggie. A time when child laborers were freed by a roguish man with a five o’clock shadow, a messenger bag and a fedora.

Ah… the late 1930s.

Anyway… new comic on Tuesday. See you all later!

Was that a messenger bag? I always thought it was a European shoulder bag.

It was a messenger bag and the message he was bringing: don’t bring a sword to a gun fight.

Kinda looks an ersatz Smokey the Bear.
